Introduced to world of science from Kuşadası this plant gets its name from the Samson Mountain (old name Mykale) which lies in Dilek Peninsula. It is locally known as Aydın Gaşağı, Tüllüşah and Delice Enginar. It grows naturally in Kuşadası and Muğla areas. It can be used in landscaping. It has medicinal qualities and some extracts from this plant are used in cancer research.
